Variscite

Variscite was first discovered in 1837 in Variscia, now called Voightland, Germany. It can be pale in colour to green. It has value as a semiprecious gemstone and is used for carvings for ornaments. When worn close to the skin, it has a tendancy to absorb the oils which discolour it. An excellent stone for anyone suffering from long term illness, as it has an encouraging effect, bringing hope and the will to persevere.
