Tourmaline
Tourmaline consists of a family of minerals that all bear the same basic crystal structure, though the mineral composition may vary. These include schorl, liddicoacite, dravite, elbaite, rubellite, indicolite, verdelite and achroite. Most Tourmaline is dark, but many of its transparent varieties are prized as gemstones.
Tourmaline is an effective cleanser and purifier, and a useful tool for clearing and balancing the chakras. Buried in the soil, it will encourage the healthy growth of all nearby flora.
Black tourmaline has a long history of use providing protection during rituals. Today it is still used as a protecting stone and a shield against bad energy. It has a strong grounding influence.
