A conglomerate is a rock formed by the lithification of rounded rock fragments that have a diameter over over 2mm. Depending on the environment these fragments are deposited in, these rocks may be of two types. Well sorted conglomerates are caused by water flow over a long period, and poorly sorted conglomerates are from rapid water flow and decomposition.
