Healing qualities

Soothing and calming, hematite encourages emotional stability, practicality, and rationality. Hematite has traditionally been considered an emotionally supportive and grounding stone encouraging sensible decision making. It is said to nurture ones own personal force whilst encouraging internal and external harmony. It is associated with the strengthening of mental clarity. Hematite’s energetic vibration is believed to aid memory function, mental calmness and organisation. In particular it is associated with the encouragement of originality of thought, logic and the study and use of mathematics. Spiritually and emotionally, these qualities are said to make it a powerful aid to positive thinking and to be strongly protective against negative energy of all types. It is a good stone for stabilising excess/unstable energy and reducing hysteria.

Recognised as a powerful healing stone since ancient times, many healers today consider Hematite an effective aid to balancing the energies of body, mind and spirit.

Physical healing

Hematite has been used to reduce fevers, insomnia, alleviate nervous conditions, help heal broken bones and align spinal vertebrae. Alleviate leg and back pain, treat muscular inflammation, to reduce allergic reactions, Jet lag, altitude sickness, blood pressure and stress and to support blood circulation. Indeed many indigenous cultures have long associated hematite with the treatment of blood related conditions such as: cardio-vascular weakness, menstrual cramps, and nose bleeds, anaemia, heart, kidney and liver diseases.
