Green tourmaline can be used to promote restful sleep and is said to help bring prosperity and success. Its healing energy is regarded as representative of the life force. This crystal is understood as being helpful for people who work with plants and those who feel a particular affinity with the natural world.

Tourmaline supports intuition. It helps dispel grief and fear. It also aids good communication and mental focus. Physically it helps relaxation and relieves stress. It is believed also to support the immune system blood poisoning, arthritis and heart disease. Differently coloured tourmalines can attune specific chakras. Crystal structure

Normally forming hexagonal prismatic crystals striated lengthwise, Tourmaline can also be radiated, columnar or massive. Marked variations in physical characteristics exist between different types of Tourmaline. Some Tourmalines for example, are (piezo electric) when compressed along their vertical axis, whilst others are (pyro electric), producing electricity when heated.
