Apophyllite encourages honesty, mental tranquillity and inner focus thus helping attunement with ones conscious intentions. It can support acceptance of ones roles and responsibilities. It can be used to help bodily attunement and is believed by some to aid astral travel. It is said to be particularly suited for the development of inner vision. Apophyllite is said to support spirituality and wisdom. It can be used to calm mental confusion and disordered mental states. Physically it is believed to support the skin and to help with respiratory problems. Fluro-Apophyllite which is green in colour has been used in healing work related to cataracts. Some healers have found it helpful when working with issues related to past life trauma’s.

Vitreous: Pearly.

Apophyllite is the name used to describe a subgroup of chemically similar mineral species (fluorapophyllite, Hulandite, hydroxyapophyllite, and natroapophyllite), belonging to the broader Zeolite mineral group. Forming as a secondary mineral within basalt rock formations the name derives from its characteristic of flaking when heated due to its high water content.

Zeolites’ are used industrially for filtration due to the porus nature of their molecular structure. They are classified as Phyllosilicates, a class which also includes Micas.
