Psychopyge Elegans trilobite
Extinct marine Arthropod
Age: 395 Million years old. (Mid Devonian).
From: Morocco
General Information:
An ancient life form, the bodies of Trilobites were divided into three sections in a similar way to lobsters today. For hundreds of millions of years they were a dominant species, with many diverse subspecies. Whilst Trilobites can be found all over the world, these particular specimens are from North Africa.
Trilobites as captured time travellers: The eyes which appear to stick up from the heads of these specimens were Composite eyes like those of flies today and focused through the use of many differentially angled facets rather than through eye movements. On well preserved trilobite specimens these facets can still be seen under a microscope!
This trilobite is 100% genuine and has no restoration.
