Orthoceras

Orthoceras are common and have global distribution, occurring in any marine rock, especially limestone. These are slender, elongate shells with th middle of the body chamber transversely constricted and as subcentral orthochoantic siphuncle. The surface is ornamented by a network of fine lirae.
