Drotops Armatus trilobite

It is hard to describe how amazing this specimen is without seeing it in the flesh.  Many spines adorn the segments of this large trilobite which has complete exoskeleton and even has spines on its eyes!

Spiny examples of this phacopid trilobite were first seen about 10 years ago and were never common.  What was common however was a degree of spine restoration which in some cases reached 100%! This specimen has fantastic natural carapace colouration, no restoration and good eye detail.

It is simply one of the best spiny Drotops ever offered for sale. Nicely outstretched on original matrix this is one for the connoisseur.
