Welcome!
Well hi folks. If you like this site then in part you can blame me. I am sitting here writing this at the end of 3 years of hard work which has constituted the beginning period of Mirrorstone Crystals as a business. I came to Birmingham first of all to do a Masters in Global Ethics at Birmingham university. Having come with no intention of staying I ended up staying and settling here. When we travel in life, whether that is from one place to another or from one stage of life to another we always bring baggage with us and we bring questions. My baggage included a passion for collecting crystals and a big WHY AM I HERE. The passion for crystals and fossils has continued to grow. Part of my answer to why am I here lies in my fiancée and our 2 lovely Kelpie dogs. I should have known it was serious when 2 months into our relationship she said: “I’ve always wanted to get a dog” and I piped up. I’ll help you with looking after a dog if you want one.
I am not a great believer in what I term the chemist shop approach to crystals. I believe from my own experience that the relationship people have with crystals and fossils, if they feel an attraction for them is so personal that it is an affront to that personal and intuitive sense of self which lies at the creative heart of our autonomous wish to reach out to the world. However I have and continue to experience the transformative effect that working with and appreciating these incredible natural objects has on my own life and that I can witness them having as part of a continuum of life experience within the lives of others.
I had caught the bug for crystal collecting long before coming to Birmingham, in my early twenties. During this period through a combination of my own passion for collecting and very good luck, some might say guidance; I had developed excellent sources of supply for the high quality crystals and fossils which I loved to collect. Coming to the Midlands I was shocked at the lack of provision for such items and indeed other related goods. I decided therefore having found that I did not wish to take up a career in Global Ethics, to remedy this gap in provision for people by starting my own market trading business selling crystals and fossils. This was the beginning of a huge learning curve for me and began a period of great personal growth for me.
From there the business has gradually developed to the point where mirrorstonecrystals.com has recently gone live, and the Mirrorstonecrystals shop will soon open in Kings Heath, Birmingham. Shortly we will be running a stall for the 3rd year in a row in Chamberlain Square at the Christmas Craft market from the 19th of November to the 23rd of December.
So a long road has been travelled in the past 3 years to get here and it has all been about healing and growing and learning to relate to everyone around and respond to ever changing circumstances and opportunities.
I started this business with the aim of making crystals and fossils accessible and affordable to people and to help people enjoy and explore their own interests and approaches in an environment where they could trust what they were told and where what they said and what they brought through their own understanding and approach was to be appreciated and respected. This was the gift that had been given to me and has helped me grow so it felt right to pass the same approach on. As I sit here Mirrorstone Crystals is on the verge of a completely new stage of growth and development. What we bring to this new stage is an open mindedness and a trust bourne of the experience gained since beginning the Mirrorstone Crystals project. I heard a top business executive talking about how he had had to learn when working with the creative people in a new multinational fashion chain he had become Director of to give them the outline of the task that was in view and then to leave them alone to get on with it. Otherwise they would grow resentful at being interfered with. I think he really put his finger on something with that observation. Something that is a key for the new stage that the Mirrorstone Crystals project has now reached. I set this business up so that people could find their own self expression through these remarkable and amazing objects there is nothing more creative than saying to oneself. There is something more to life, and even if I am not quite clear what it is I am going to find out about it by choosing my own pathway and see where it takes me. That’s what I did and I haven’t stopped finding out new things ever since.
Well time to sign off now. There’s a cup of tea with my name on it waiting to be made. Who says one can’t see into the future! This is my first ever blog entry so do let me know what you think of it or the site or anything else that seems relevant. I will endeavour to keep you updated on Mirrorstonecrystals as developments and or new thoughts occur. I am quite excited because a very gifted healer I know has agreed to post some of her direct observations on working with the auric energies of various herbs as a blog in the next few days. So do watch out for that.

Well done on producing a website. I wondered why I'd not heard from you in ages - presumably you have been busy!
I think it's good that you will have regular input from another source - the gifted healer! Also having links to other spiritually related sites seems to work well with other websites.
I love checking out crystal sites online - the more you read - the more you learn!
Good Luck
